Donna J. MacDougall, age 75, died on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Lincoln Hospital in Mattoon, Illinois. She was born on February 20, 1943, the oldest child of Edith Rosalie (Allen) and Theo Isom. She graduated from LTHS in May of 1961 and enlisted in the US Navy at that time.

She was a member of Mensa and Phi Theta Kappa. She was enrolled at EIU in Charleston at the time of her death. She leaves behind her husband of 46 years, Alan and son, Matt and daughter-in-law, Joi.

She was a big sister to a mixed combination of siblings, totaling 12. For many years, as she traveled with Alan to his various stations, including Illinois twice, California, Italy, and Norfolk, Virginia, she would write long letters to keep in touch with her loved ones. Her wishes were to be cremated and her ashes buried in a cemetery.

An avid searcher for past relative’s grave sites led her to firmly believe in leaving a trail for others to follow. There will be an internment of her ashes on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Signs will be posted.

There will be a lunch served at the Hi-Way Church of God, located west of Lawrenceville on Highway 50, following the service. Any former friends, classmates, and relatives are welcome to attend. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
