Our loss is heaven’s gain as Donna Lee Heid (nee Rosenthal) passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. She fought with everything she had but, in the end, Alzheimer’s claimed another soul. Donna was born on February 21, 1933, to Anita Young Rosenthal and Ewald “Oppie” Rosenthal.

Donna married Don Heid on October 23, 1954, at Holy Angels. He pre-deceased her in November of 2000. Donna is survived by her three daughters, Debbie Salentine (husband, Tim) of LaFayette, GA, Mary Beth of Seattle, WA, and Ann of West Bend.

She is further survived by her three granddaughters, Jennifer (Scott) Delfosse of Oshkosh, Sarah Jungwirth of Oshkosh, and Lydia Ringer of Seattle, WA. Donna was especially proud of her two great-granddaughters, Brooklyn and Kamdyn Delfosse of Oshkosh. Donna is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, December 27, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 1025 S. 7th Avenue, in West Bend. Visitation will start at 5:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials can be made in Donna’s name to the Threshold of West Bend or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

We need a cure for this cruel and life-shattering disease! Finally, Donna’s family would like to thank her care-givers at Betty’s Harbor (New Perspective) and at Seasons Hospice for their incredible care and tenderness. They made Mom’s journey a little easier and we thank them.
