DONNA MARIE BRASTINE (nee Zupancic) (formerly Ruggie) of Pepper Pike, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 23, 2019. Donna was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 24, 1944 to the late John and Sophie (nee Jeriha) Zupancic and beloved daughter to the late Dorothy Ann (nee Howard) Zupancic and wife to the late Robert J. Brastine. Donna was a dedicated mother, nana, aunt and dear friend to many.

Through most of her life, she managed rental property until her retirement. In her free time, Donna loved to cook, travel, read and watch mysteries of all types. An amazing cook of homemade meals, she loved the three basic food groups of pizza, chocolate ice cream and fried chicken.

Donna was a born entertainer and host to many gatherings with family and friends including football Sundays, holiday meals and many spur-of-the-moment times when friends would stop by for a visit, a hug and a laugh. Donna is survived by her adoring sons, Michael David (spouse Jerry Steffe) of Palm City Florida, Graham Lloyd (Spouse Ana Ruggie) and granddaughter Sophia Elena of Alexandria, Virginia and Analicia of Milford, Massachusetts, and former husband Michael Ruggie Sr. of Chagrin Falls, OH; stepdaughter, Donna McDonnell (spouse Kevin); step-grandchildren Amy and Jill McDonnell of Mentor; stepson, Daniel Brastine (spouse Denise) of Willoughby and step-granddaughter, Summer Brastine. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in memory of Donna to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Euclid Ave.

, Cleveland, OH 44106 or the Epilepsy Association, 2831 Prospect Ave. , Cleveland, OH 44115. Funeral Mass Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in the Marian Chapel of Gesu Church.

Interment Knollwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the SCHULTE & MAHON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 5252 MAYFIELD RD.
