OBITUARY Doris Mae Spradling July 11, 1926 – December 4, 2018 Doris Mae Spradling (nee Uecker), passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 4th, 2018, at the age of 92. A direct descendant of German settlers arriving in Texas in the 1840s, she was born in San Antonio on July 11, 1926. A true Texan, she spent her entire life in San Antonio and Bexar County.

She graduated from Alamo Heights High School at the end of World War II, and worked for Southwestern Bell until her retirement. Doris was an avid supporter of the San Antonio Rodeo, and loved living on her ranch in northern Bexar County. She enjoyed traveling by RV and going on cruises.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Magdalena (nee Ackermann) Uecker, and her husbands, Homer E. Register and James W. Spradling. She is survived by three stepchildren, 12 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren—to whom she was affectionately known as “GG” and “Grandma Bling”.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 13th from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Park.
