Obituary for Doris Magrone Doris Magrone, 75 of Naples, FL passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at her residence. Formerly of Cortland, NY she had been a Naples resident since 1995. Doris was born January 14, 1943 in New York, NY a daughter of the late Bruno and Agnes (Connelie) Waas.

Doris worked tirelessly behind the scenes taking care of her children while her husband traveled the world to provide for his family. Mrs. Magrone was an avid golfer in her younger years and was currently a member of both Quail Creek Country Club and the Club at Longshore Lakes. She enjoyed family vacations and traveling with her girlfriends.

She also enjoyed spending time with her friends of QCWOFF but the time she spent with her family was most important. Doris was a mother figure to nieces, nephews and the friends of her children. Survivors include her loving children, Meredith (Rich) Wiacek of Naples, FL, Matthew Magrone of Tallahassee, FL and Christine (Anthony) Hevia of Miami, FL; brothers, Paul (Gretchen) Waas of Buffalo, NY, Gerard Waas of Amityville, NY and Neil Waas of Southwick, MA; and cherished grandchildren, Ryder, Cameron, Matthew, Zoe, Charlie, Teddy and Frank.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Magrone in 2016; daughter, Andrea Liebelt; and sister, Clare Claypoole. Doris was always available to anyone in need: a birth, a death and everything in between. She will be remembered for her good heart and wicked sense of humor.

A memorial will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel at Hodges Funeral Home. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Doris’ name may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or to the American Cancer Society.
