Doris Violet Rooks Lord, 91, of Tallahassee, FL passed away Monday, December 17, 2018 at Consulate Health Care. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Faith Funeral Home Chapel. A private interment will follow the service at The Tallahassee National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Mrs. Lord was born on March 24, 1927 in Sink Creek, FL the daughter of the late Alonzo Rooks and the late Mary Jane Peacock Rooks. She married Robert Vester Lord who preceded her in death in 1959. Mrs Lord had six children, three boys and three girls.

The boys are Leslie Lord (Dixie); Larry Lord (Patty) and Bobby Lord (Connie). The girls are Sharon Parham; Sheri Wester (Bert) and Violet Davis (T.J.). Seventeen Grandchildren, Chenoa Jones, Tamela Penrod, Tasha Lord, Tara Lord, Kimberly Kelly, Matt Parham, Salena Yarborough, Jamie Fenlon, Jerry Singer, Carrie Singer, Donnie Wester, Maggie Wester, David Davis, Kathy Mercier, Chris O’Neal, Jonah O’Neal and Sara Waller.

Twelve Great Grandchildren, Hunter Penrod, Brittany Kelly, Jessica Kelly, Sarah Davis, Mason Jones, Jordan Mercier, Taylor Nipper, Justin O’Neal, Hannah O’Neal Emma O’Neal, Isaac Waller and Luke Waller. One Great-great grandchild, Luke Davis-Defend.
