Dorothy A. Starke, 88, of Rhineland, MO, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Hermann Area District Hospital. Dorothy was born in McKittrick, Missouri on July 3, 1930, a daughter of the late Emil & Edna (Gloe) Schluss. She was the widow of Edward C. Starke.

They were united in marriage on September 27, 1949, at St. Martin’s Church, Starkenburg, MO. Edward preceded her in death on July 1, 1996. Dorothy was a member of St. Martin’s Church, Starkenburg, Missouri.

She worked as an aid at Frene Valley Health Center for several years. She also did baby sitting before, during, and after working at the nursing home. In her free time she loved doing embroidery work.

Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Evelyn Starke, and a son, Gerald Starke, both of Rhineland. A memorial mass will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Masses, American Heart Association, or American Diabetes Associaton.
