Helen D. Wesselschmidt, 79, of Hermann, MO, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Mercy Hospital, Creve Coeur, Missouri. Helen was born in Hermann, Missouri on August 14, 1939, a daughter of the late Louis & Carrie (Bohl) Engelbrecht. She graduated from Hermann High School on May 17, 1957.

Helen was the wife of Elwood “Woody” Wesselschmidt. They were united in marriage on May 26, 1957 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann. Woody survives at their home.

Helen is also survived by their three children, Michael Wesselschmidt & wife Leota, of O’Fallon, Missouri; Matthew Wesselschmidt, of Hermann, Missouri; and Mary Wesselschmidt, of Kansas City, Missouri, and by two grandsons, Jeffrey Wesselschmidt, of New York, and Andrew Wesselschmidt, of Kansas City, Missouri. Helen was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, of Hermann, the Hermann V.F.W. Auxiliary, and the Hermann Eagles Auxiliary. She worked as a seamstress for International Shoe Factory, Langenberg Hat Factory and for Lennertson Sample Company.

In her free time she enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 8th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Rodger Kiepe officiating.

Burial will be at Hermann Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Paul U.C.C. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
