Mrs. Dorothy Ann Alkire was born September 29, 1942 in Walker County Alabama to Mr. Luther Coker and Vera Walker. She was the third of five children. She attended West Jefferson High School and was an Opthalmic Technician at both the Eye Foundation and Veterans Affairs Hospitals in Birminghan, Al for over 30 Years.

She was a member of Vinesville Baptist Church(Birmingham, Al), Mount Olive Baptist Church(Gardendale, Al), Crossroads Baptist Church (Hayden, Al) She loved to spend time with family and friends, traveling, and took extreme pride in her once in a lifetime trip to San Paulo, Brazil ministering to others with her church. She also loved spending time with her dog “Sugar” and Cat “Pudding”. She departed this life to be with her savior Jesus Christ on August 31st, 2018 at the age of 75.

She is survived by her Brother Raymond Coker (Judy) of (Trussville, Al. ). Children: Cindy Smith (Kenny) of (Hayden, Al) and Richard Harrison (April) of (Memphis, Tn).

Numerous Grand Children, Nieces, Nephews, Family,and Friends.
