Obituary for Dorothy M. Chappelear Dorothy Muriel Chappelear, 95, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Monday, November 19, 2018 at Cedar Falls Health Care Center. She was born June 25th, 1923, in Waterloo, the daughter of Junies Bernard and Maude Mae Burnett Harper. She graduated from East High School in 1942.

She worked at Hinson Manufacturing. On August 16, 1943, she was united in marriage to Lesley G. Chappelear in Oakland, California. During WWII they lived in California where she worked as a riveter in an airplane factory.

They lived in Ponca, Nebraska, then moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa. Dorothy is survived by daughters, Linda (Tom) Moon and Debbie (Jerry) Hageman, both of Waterloo; son, Doug Chappelear of Ankeny, IA; seven grandchildren: Jesse and Kyle Moon, Courtney Bachel and Cody Hageman, Jared, Wade and Amara Chappelear; seven great grandchildren: Brenden and Hunter Moon, Alivia and Aubrey Moon, Colton and Brynley Bachel and Jack Chappelear. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Vern and Paul; and three sisters, Ruth, Charlotte and Margaret.

Private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
