Obituary for Dorothy Helen (Christie) Elder Dorothy Helen Christie Elder, a resident of Royse City, passed away July 19, 2018, the day before her 77th birthday. Dottie was born July 20, 1941, in Atlanta, Georgia to James Stewart and Mary Helen Christie. Dottie is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Elder; their two children, Rhonda Franks and Eric Elder; son-in-law Mark Franks; grandchildren, Savannah Franks, Grayson Elder and Gage Elder; sister, Barbara Garrett; sister-in-law, Cathy Haney; and very special nieces, nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sally Giroir; and brothers-in-law, Philip Giroir and Jerry Garrett. Dottie retired from Texas Instruments after 30 years of service and then continued her career with First Southwest Properties for 16 years. Dottie had the most beautiful soul.

Her beauty radiated from the inside out. Everyone that met Dottie loved her and was drawn to her very special kindness and loving spirit. She loved life and was truly joyful.

Dottie’s favorite title of all was NANA! She absolutely loved spending time with her three grandchildren, and made sure she made the best and most special of memories with each of them. They were all three Nana’s pride and joy!

Dottie/Sweetie/Mom/Nana/Aunt Dot will be tremendously missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves a beautiful legacy of love. Funeral services will be held 10:00am Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Location with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating.
