Funeral services for Dorothy J. Schneider, age 93, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Lilienthal will officiate.

Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Online condolences are welcome at www.

bayviewfuneral.com. Dorothy passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Thorne Crest Senior Living Community. Dorothy Jane Schneider was born on February 28, 1925, in Chatfield, Minnesota the daughter of Emil and Grace (Strange) Hanson.

She grew up and attended school in Chatfield. On October 10, 1945, Dorothy was united in marriage to Wilber Schneider in Rochester. She enjoyed sewing, puzzles, gardening, showing African Violets, cross-stitch, and word finds.

Dorothy loved taking care of Wiley the dog, her favorite companion. Dorothy is survived by her children, Wanda (Gary) Mitsch of Rogers, MN, Dawn (Jerri) Baas of Albert Lea, Ronald Schneider of Fairfax County, VA, and Janet (Greg) Ackland of Manchester; grandchildren, Melissa (John) Rizkalla, Desirae Farr, Landon Farr, Brian Schneider, Greg Schneider, Aaron (Emlinn) Ackland, David (special friend Amanda) Ackland, Matt (special friend Mary) Baas, Jacob (special friend Nikki) Baas, Tyler (special friend Heather) Baas, Taran Schneider, and Molly Schneider; great-grandchildren, Timothy, Beau, Harley, Elijah, Isaiah, Emma, Harrison, Sierra, Rose, Lilly, Callen, Brandon, Madalynn, Makayla, and Brantley; and several step-great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur; sons, Dean and Dennis; daughter, Julie; parents and grandparents; four brothers and four sisters, and several aunts and uncles.

Memorials preferred to Freeborn County Humane Society.
