Obituary for Dorothy Louise Garvey Dorothy Louise Lousen Garvey died November 21, 2018 surrounded by her two daughters and their families. Dorothy was born in Great Falls on May 21, 1919 to Mary and Charles Lousen and raised in Butte America. She graduated from Girl Central in 1935 and married Joseph Garvey November 15, 1941.

They moved to New York when Joe served in the army from 1942 to 1946, then returning to Butte to raise four daughters and a son which kept her very busy and active. Dorothy also worked at St. James in the cafeteria until she retired in 1985. Dorothy still stayed active, most every day she walked around Butte.

Some days walking 5 miles or more. For the past 6 years Dorothy has resided at the Copper Ridge Health and Rehab where the staff cared so lovingly for her. At 99 years old Dorothy outlived all her generation ‘s relatives and friends.

She is the last of this great era. At her 99th birthday celebration her family was amazed that this “witty” and “stubborn” gal was so quick with a witty response. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe, beloved and dedicated daughter Arlene, sister Marion , brother Chuck and granddaughter Tiffany as well as her many life long friends.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Joanne Weir (Donald), Lynn Harris (James), son, Michael Garvey (Jamie), and daughter, Linda Blumer, grandchildren, Jennifer, Carrie, Troy, Tara, Stephanie and Chad. Great grandchildren include Olivia, Nathan, Jozi and Makenzie and Aaden. Dorothy was loved and will truly be missed.
