OBITUARY Dorothy Louise Wiley August 20, 1923 – July 17, 2018 Dorothy Louise Wiley passed away on July 17, 2018. She was born in August 20, 1923 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Wilbur and Hulda (Tank) Anderson. She married Arthur H. Wiley on March 18, 1945 in East Lansing, Michigan.

They met while both were attending MSU. She worked for the State of Michigan in the Health Department’s Microbiology Lab for 25 years, retiring in 1993. She and her family loved to camp in the summers in Canada and the Western United States.

Upon retiring, she and her husband traveled and cruised extensively throughout the world. She joined the Order of Eastern Star in 1944 and was very active in Okemos Chapter 267 where she served as Worthy Matron in 1965. She was the Secretary for 38 years.

She was aPast Grand Officer – serving as the star point Electa. She received her Life Membership in May of 1989. She enjoyed gardening and would always have the most beautiful blooms on her violets and Christmas Cactus.

Her passion was sewing and quilting, and she turned out many beautiful and exquisite pieces. Each of her granddaughters received a hand-crocheted bedspread upon their high school graduation. Dorothy is survived by three daughters, Margaret (Berney) Shaw of Charlotte, Michigan, Dolores (Michael) O’Bryant of Ovid, Michigan, and Nancy Lentz of Overland Park, Kansas; 8 granddaughters; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was pre-deceased by her husband of 67 years in 2012. The family would like to thank Sheila and the staff of Country Acres in Eaton Rapids for the compassionate and tender care she received the last days of her life. Also, the Great Lakes Hospice and Heart to Heart organization for all of their help.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 11:00am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave. The funeral services will include an Order of the Eastern Star Service. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Country Acres Adult Care Home, 735 S. Michigan Rd. , Eaton Rapids, MI 48827 or Great Lakes Christian Homes, 2050 Washington Rd. , Holt, MI 48842.

FAMILY Wilbur Henry Anderson, Father Hulda Hannah Augusta Tank, Mother Arthur Wiley, Husband Margaret (Berney) Shaw, Daughter Dolores (Michael) O’Bryant, Daughter Nancy Lentz, Daughter Dorothy also leaves behind 8 granddaughters, 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.
