Obituary for Dorothy Mae Tyler Dorothy Mae (Dottie) Tyler, 81, died peacefully at her home, Thursday, November 1, 2018. She was born in Portageville, MO, January 9, 1937 to parents Kelly and Myrtle (Brock) Copeland. Dottie was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.

She was the oldest of twelve children. She lived in Chicago many years before returning to Missouri. Dottie was a stay-at-home mom and care giver to many children.

She enjoyed gardening and canning the garden’s bounty. She loved fishing; put a rod in her hand and she was totally happy! Dottie was a member of Harvest Baptist Church and had accepted Christ in 1970 and had many friends among the congregation.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Eugene, Lenzie, Dewayne, Roger, Freddie, Clyde Copeland; great-granddaughter: Chelsea Yant. Dottie is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Elvin Tyler; daughters: Brenda Petrey and husband Dan, Laura Arnett and husband Bob; sisters: Barbara Wilbourn, Anne Gasparas, Jeannie Copeland, Goldie Howard, Mandy Pearce; grandchildren: Cindy Thompson and husband Eddie, Lora Yant and companion Jimmie Sides, Matt Petrey and wife Carissa; great-grandchildren: Justin Thompson, Kevin Yant, Owen, Allie and Claire Petrey. Visitation will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Harvest Baptist Church.

Funeral service will follow at 2:30 pm also at the church. Burial will be at Meador-Flatwoods Cemetery near Piedmont, MO. Online condolences can be made at www.
