Dorothy O’Fallon June 07, 1926 – March 05, 2019 Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Obituary: Dorothy O”Fallon Loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend, Dorothy O’Fallon 92 of Pullman, Washington and formerly Helena, Montana passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 with her granddaughter Christy Fitzgerald by her side at Bishop Place. Dorothy lived 90 years in the Helena area and moved in October 2016 to Bishop Place Assisted Living in Pullman to be near her son Jim’s family. Dorothy was born June 7, 1926 in Helena, MT to Joseph and Mary Himl.

Dorothy attended St. Ann’s School in East Helena, Cathedral High School in Helena, and Helena Business College. Dorothy married Kenneth O’Fallon on June 25, 1949 at St. Cyril and Methodious Church in East Helena, MT. They enjoyed an active life square dancing for 36 years, playing Pinochle or Poker with family and friends, traveling to see family and those Sunday leisure picnic drives.

Dorothy was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Helena Cathedral. Dorothy worked for the State of Montana for 25 years, attorneys, the IRS, and various other places before her retirement in July 1988 from the State. Dorothy immediately became active volunteering with the reading program at Central School and Nature Conservancy for over 20 years.

She also helped at the Rocky Mountain Nursing Home administering communion and the Helena Senior Center with whatever was needed. Dorothy was active in the RSVP Program and belonged to Crafty Quilters, Line Dancing, Pinochle, Senior Singers, exercise, and numerous other activities. Dorothy enjoyed plays, community concerts, and traveling.

Dorothy loved to make her almond roca or potica at Christmas time which she would share with family and friends. When her grandchildren would visit she always had a batch of homemade cookies for them to enjoy. Dorothy born of simple goodness and gentle spirit blessed those who knew her with love and kindness.

She was always full of life out in the world making it a better place. Survivors include Daughter Patti Eby of Aurora, CO, Daughter-in-law Elaine O’Fallon of Pullman, WA, Grandchildren Christy Fitzgerald and husband Jarod of Pullman, WA, Mike O’Fallon and wife Lisa of Harrisonburg, VA, Ryan O’Fallon and wife Kelly of Pullman, WA, Andy O’Fallon of Pullman, WA and April Eby of Aurora, CO. Eight Great Grandchildren, Shannon, Emmaleigh, Jacob, and Owen Fitzgerald of Pullman, WA, Mikaela, Samantha, and Hannah O’Fallon of Harrisonburg, VA and Kyra Kassel of Aurora, CO.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mary Himl, brother Joseph Himl, husband Kenneth O’Fallon and son James O’Fallon. Dorothy will be cremated and buried next to her loving husband at a later date in Helena. Arrangements are in the care of Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman.

We wish to thank the staff at Bishop Place for all their care and compassion for Mom over the last two and a half years especially Rebecca Lawton and her staff. Susan at Upper Cut for fixing her hair every week and the Hospice staff for their care during her final two weeks. Mom will be greatly missed!
