Douglas A Bush , January 13, 1957 — February 21, 2019

Douglas Arthur Bush, 62 of Westfield, WI passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital, Madison surrounded by his family. Doug was born on January 13, 1957 to Russell and Norma (Monthey) Bush. He graduated from Pardee ville High School with the Class of 1975.

Life on the farm taught Doug the value of hard work and persistence. He ultimately moved to a career working in the maintenance department of Divine Savior Hospital. He was looking forward to his retirement, but still loved his job of fixing things and making life safer and easier for the patients and staff of the hospital.

Doug loved the great outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. During his down time, he could be found feeding and photographing wildlife, or he could be working his land, planting and trimming trees, making firewood, or tending his blueberry patch. He loved music, especially that “good old country,” and while he never played an instrument, he wrote songs and poems.

He attended song writing classes and music was always in his heart. As a bachelor, he cooked for himself and would invent his own specialties. The family will always remember his famous “cranberry bogs,” and his made-from-scratch pizza, and he could just as easily whip up a batch of Ma Bush’s homemade biscuits.

Doug is survived by his seven siblings, Sister Lois Bush (family friend Sister Sharee Hurtgen), James (Mary Ann) Bush, John (Gail) Bush, Donald (Margie Lund) Bush, Daniel (June) Bush, Marcia (Bill) Barth and Julie (Ron Gabbei) Standiford, many special nieces, nephews and cousins, and a special friend, Sally Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his father Russell, and his mother Norma. A mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, March 1, 2019 at 10 AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church, N117 State Rd.

22, Buffalo Township, Pardeeville, WI. Inurnment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday February 28, 2019 from 4 to 7 PM at Grasse Funeral Home, 119 Industrial Drive, Pardeeville, and at the church from 9 AM until the time of the funeral mass Friday.
