Douglas W. Bussie, 75, of Westville, passed away on April 29, 2018, in Valparaiso. He was born on April 26, 1943, in LaPorte, to James and Yvonne (Ullrey) Bussie, who both preceded him in death. He was raised as a child by Howard and Mary Bussie from when he was eight years old.

Douglas worked as a correctional officer for the State of Indiana at the Westville Correctional Center before he retired. He is survived by his two children Heather (Dan) Connolly of Peru, and Holly (Mike) Rippe of Union Mills. He is also survived by his siblings; Ronald Bussie of Fish Lake, Pam Rice of Walkerton, Greg Brooks of California, David Brooks of California, Tracey Miller of Florida, Mike Brewster, and Sharon Jertberg of Florida; and 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
