Obituary of Douglas Scriber Douglas “Blake” Scriber of Neversink passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019 at home with his wife by his side. He was 73 He was the son of the late LeRoy and Mable Gorr Scriber, born on September 3, 1945 in Monticello, NY. He was involved in many things throughout his life.

He was a member if the NRA, past member of the Neversink Fire Department, Sullivan County Conservation Club, Ridge Runners Rod and Gun Club as well as a member of the Neversink Rondout Antique Machinery Association. For over 40 years he worked in construction and was a member of the Laborers Union Local 17. Blake was an avid outdoors man who loved fishing and hunting.

He was known for having a green thumb and loved planting flowers and growing his own vegetables. He was always a kind and compassionate person to his neighbors and all of his friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need.

He had a soft spot in his heart for pets and had his fair share of rescued animals, he would often be found feeding the wildlife near house. He will be truly missed. He leaves behind his loving wife Bonnie L Scriber, his sons Donald E. Scriber of Livingston Manor, Randy B. Scriber and his wife Frances of Clintondale, grandson Jessie Scriber, his siblings LeRoy Marshall and his wife Della of Clintondale, Marjorie Wienthrub and her husband Richard of Clearwater FL, and Nancy Dixon; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation will be on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Colonial Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street, Livingston Manor, NY 12758 from 10:00am- 1:00pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 12:00 with Pastor Paul Ansbro officiating. In lieu of flowers donations in Blake’s name can be made to the Sullivan County Conservation Club 140 Kortright Rd, Ferndale, NY 12734 or to Main Street Bible Fellowship 106 Aden Road, Liberty, NY 12754.
