OBITUARY Dr. Aylmer P. Cheng September 4, 1936 – October 25, 2018 Dr. Aylmer Pao-Sheng Cheng, PhD, PE of Houston, TX, passed away peacefully at home on October 25th, 2018 at age 82. He was surrounded by family. Aylmer was born in Han Kou, China in 1936 and lived in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, England and the United States.

He proudly considered Houston his home. Aylmer graduated from National Taiwan University in 1959. After completing his compulsory military service in Taiwan, he came to the United States where he received an M.S. from the University of Missouri at Rolla and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University (Gig ‘em!

). Aylmer enjoyed a global career in the oil and gas industry. He retired from Amoco after 24 years and spent his retirement years continuing to travel the world with his beloved wife.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary Jo, and his two daughters: Julie Sadowski and Kelly and son-in-law John Pelly. He is predeceased by his parents and his son-in-law, David Sadowski, Jr. Visitation will be Friday, November 2, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX. A funeral mass will commence Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 10:00am at Ascension Chinese Mission, 4605 Jetty Lane, Houston, TX.

Rev. Louis Zee will be celebrant. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
