Obituary for Dr. Daniel John Duprey Dr. Daniel John Duprey, 60, of East Stroudsburg, PA passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Mary Jo (Licchio) Duprey with whom he had celebrated 29 years of marriage.

Born in Troy, New York, Daniel was the son of the late Clarence William and Kathleen (Slocum) Duprey. Daniel was a resident of the East Stroudsburg area for the past twenty-five years. Daniel was a very accomplished physician.

He practiced internal medicine for twenty-nine years. He was licensed to practice medicine in Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. He earned many awards for his work, including certifications in advanced cardiac life support and advanced trauma life support.

Above all, Daniel loved helping those in need whether they be patients or cherished family and friends. Daniel also served for many years as the Vice President of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Transplant Support Group. Daniel graduated from medical school at the State University of New York at Syracuse.

He earned a Bachelor’s Degree as part of Epsilon Sigma Pi from Manhattan College. Daniel enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an extraordinarily devoted husband and father.

In his spare time, he enjoyed running and playing chess. He was a committed environmentalist who spent many hours appreciating pristine natural sites. Daniel will be sorely missed by all of us fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

In addition to his wife, Mary Jo, he is survived by a son, Matthew Daniel Duprey of Brooklyn, N.Y., and a daughter, Sara Angela Duprey of East Stroudsburg, PA. He is also survived by his siblings: Cheryl Duprey of Rensselaer, N.Y., John Duprey and his wife, Colleen, of Watervliet, N.Y., Richard Duprey of East Greenbush, N.Y., and Sandra Bulson and her husband, Jeffry, of Hopewell Junction, N.Y. Daniel is also survived by his mother and father-in-law Angela and Philip Licchio of Toms River, N.J., a sister-in-law Roseanne Licchio of Lebanon, N.J., and two brother-in-laws: Joseph Lucchio of Manahawkin, N.J. as well as Philip Licchio and his wife, Margaret, of West Point Island, N.J. He is also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

There will be a viewing on Friday Dec. 21, 2018 from 2-6:00pm at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th. St.Stroudsburg, Pa.

and on Saturday Dec. 22, 2018 from 9:00am until the time of the mass at the church. There will be a Mass of Christian burial on Saturday Dec.

22, 2018 at 10:00am from St. Matthews Catholic Church 78 Ridgeway St. East Stroudsburg, Pa. 18301. Burial will be in the Stroudsburg Cemetery Stroudsburg, Pa.
