On Sunday, January 27, 2019, age 68, of Churchill. Beloved husband of 41 years to Rev. Dr. Suzanne Bennett.

Brother of Allen Bennett of Ankeny, Iowa. Uncle of James Paul Bennet (Rachel) and Rebecca Bennett, both of Iowa. Great-uncle of Mark and Avery.

Also survived by his little dog, Lily. Craig was born in Ankeny, Iowa, the son of Loren Wayne and Doreatha Speer Bennett. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a theater major and dance minor.

He received a Master of Divinity degree from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL, and a Doctorate in Ministry from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in 1992. He served a number of churches in the Erie / Meadville district of the United Methodist Church and was pastor for 9 years of Jeanette United Methodist Church. Former community organizer in the Perry Hilltop neighborhood and past Executive Director of Erie AIDS Council.

He received an accounting degree from Duquesne University and became a CPA and partner at Terry Collier and Associates. Craig worked with prisoners and was an advocate for AIDS patients. He was a caring person and had a dry, wicked sense of humor.

He will be sadly missed. No visitation. A memorial service will be held at East Liberty Presbyterian Church on Friday, February 15, 2019, at 11:00am.
