Dr. Ronald E. Fessler Ottawa – Dr. Ronald E. Fessler, 82, of Ottawa, died 4:09 p.m. Sunday, December 9, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Ron was born February 26,1936 in Lima to the late Warren and Beatrice (Kern) Fessler. On August 23, 1958, he married Carol Abramoska, who survives in Ottawa.

He is also survived by 3 children, Debra (Michael) Giesken of Ottawa, Linda (Kevin) Brinkman of Glandorf, and Mark (Wendy) Fessler of Wilmette, IL; 7 grandchildren, Kelly (Jay) Siefker, Jill (Kyle) Leatherman, Jodi (Nick Yannucci) Brinkman, Justin (Beth) Brinkman, Leah Fessler, Grace Fessler, and Holly Fessler; and 7 great-grandchildren, with one on the way. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Janice Barber. Ron was a career dentist in Ottawa for 38 years, who took tremendous pride in his profession.

He was a graduate of Ottawa High School’s class of 1954, a 1958 graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science degree, and a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1962. Ron served in the U.S. Army as a captain in the Dental Corp, stationed in Fort Bragg, NC. Ron was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Ottawa where he served as a lay leader and coordinated the Food Pantry.

He was past president of Kiwanis, receiving distinctive recognition in their Legion of Honor for 50 plus years of service and was awarded the Walter Zeller Fellowship. Ron was treasurer of Tawa Manor, a lifetime member of the OSU Alumni Association and the Northwest Ohio Dental Association. Upon retiring, Ron enjoyed wintering in Ft.

Myers, FL. He was an avid spectator of his grandkids and great-grandkids activities and sporting events and he loved the OSU Buckeyes Football Team. His favorite pastime was playing bridge.

This past August he and Carol celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Ottawa with Pastor Kathleen Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa with military rights by Ottawa American Legion, AMVETS and Ottawa VFW.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa, and one hour prior to services on Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church.
