Dr Thomas W Quinn , September 19, 1932 — December 06, 2018

Dr. Thomas W. Quinn, 86, formerly of West Springfield, passed away Dec. 6, 2018 in Spring Hill, FL. He was born Sept.

19, 1932 to the late Thomas A. and Margaret (Reilly) Quinn. Tom was a 1950 graduate of Cathedral High School. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War.

Tom would later attend St. Michael’s College and graduate from A.I.C. in 1957. He graduated from the Georgetown School of Dentistry in 1961. Tom then founded Quinn Dental, now known as Quinn Family Dental, in Chicopee, MA.

He was a member of the ADA (American Dental Association), the MG Sports Car Club and the West Springfield Elks. Having taken up skiing at the age of 38, he enjoyed wonderful days at his beloved Stratton Mountain in Vermont. An avid golfer, he was a member at the Blandford Golf and Tennis Club for over 25 years.

An intrepid genealogist, Tom traveled to and traced his family roots back to Ireland. He could tell fabulous stories of generations past. After retiring, he and his wife Betty moved to Timber Pines in Spring Hill, FL, where he enjoyed golfing and was very active in the Timber Pines community.

Tom truly enjoyed his retirement and their 13 years in Florida. He leaves his loving wife of over 60 years, Elizabeth “Betty” (Wrenn) Quinn. A proud father and grandfather, Tom is survived by his three sons: Kevin Quinn and his wife Virginia of Downingtown, PA; Thomas P. Quinn and his wife Sharon of Plainville, MA; and James Quinn and his wife Anita of Westfield, MA; and his daughter: Dr. Maureen Quinn-Sheehan and her husband Walter of Westfield, MA; and his six grandchildren: Katherine, Emily, Kellee and Collin Quinn and Connor and Liam Sheehan.

He leaves his brothers Robert Quinn of FL, and Paul Quinn of Wilbraham, his sisters Marguerite Kenney of FL and Kathleen Laramee of FL, along with many nieces and nephews. Dr. Quinn touched the lives of his family, friends, his staff at Quinn Family Dental and generations of patients he loved to serve. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Sunday, December 30th, 2018 from 4:30pm – 7:30pm at Lattitude Restaurant, 1338 Memorial Ave, West Springfield, MA.

Calling Hours and a Memorial Service will be held on April 12th – 13th 2019. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in Tom’s name may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
