Obituary for Earl E. Shenk Earl E. Shenk, 76, of Newburg, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at home. He was born June 25, 1942 in Carlisle. Earl was a son of the late Cloyd A. and Dorothy E. Jacoby Shenk.

Earl retired from the PA Department of General Services. He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, Newburg and Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, Newville.

Earl was a member of the Big Spring Lodge #361 F.&A.M., Newville where he was twice a past-master, Harrisburg Consistory, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Valley Forest #145, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Club and the Order of the Eastern Star, Carlisle . He also was a member of the Shippensburg Fish & Game Association, Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, Minnequa Social Club both in Shippensburg, Failor-Wagner American Legion Post #421, Newville, Men’s Club, Mechanicsburg, National Rifle Association, and the Rocky Mt. Elk Foundation.

Earl was a 1960 graduate of the Big Spring High School and attended the former Shippensburg State Teachers College. He is survived by his wife, Nancy L. Bolen Shenk, four children, Scott E. Shenk of Newburg, Sheila R. Fox of Dauphin, Michael A. Manning and his wife Amy of Newburg and Stephanie L. Cooper and her fiancée Allan Jones of Newville, six grandchildren, Jade Smith, Brooklyn Manning, Matthew Manning, Jacob Cooper, Zackery Manning and Nicholas Cooper, three brothers, Samuel, Ronald & Robert Shenk and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Scott Manning who passed away July 6, 2007 and Sheila’s fiancé, Matthew Stetter.

Masonic services will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg with a memorial services immediately following. Officiating will be The Rev. Mary Jane King.

Burial will be private. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Big Spring Lodge #361, 131 Centerville Rd.
