Vestaburg- Earl Laverne Mason, age 92, passed away at his home on September 1, 2018. He was born on June 2, 1926 in Lansing, Michigan to George and Harriet (Hudson) Mason. Earl was raised in the Shaftburg area.

Earl married the love of his life, Marlene, on September 30, 1973 in Lansing. They would be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. Earl worked for General Motors where he eventually retired.

Earl will be missed by his wife; his children, Earl (Teresa) Mason II of Remus, Ann (Jim) Loften of Laughlin, Nevada, Danny (Ellie) Mason of Fowler, Judy Holder of Lansing, Bob (Sue) Miller of Venice, Florida, Connie (Bob) Kabbe of Mt. Pleasant, Linda (Jeff) Johnson of Diamondale, James Miller of Mecosta, Cindy (Gene) Miller of Vermontville, Windy (Mike) McCarren of Newaygo, Marty (Tim) Nelson of Grand Ledge, Debbie Thrush of Sand Lake and Jaime (Rose) Miller of Jackson; and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.

Earl is preceded in death by his parents; his son David Miller; brothers Glen and Carl Mason; and 4 grandchildren. Funeral Services for Earl will be held Thursday September 6, 2018 at Brigham Chapel 6055 Howard City Edmore Rd Vestaburg, Michigan 48891 at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends Wednesday September 7, 2018 from 5 to 8 PM and 12 p.m. on the day of service. Interment will be at Hick’s Cemetery in Battle Creek, Michigan.
