Ludowici, Eddie Blankenship Sr, age 70, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 surrounded by family and friends in his home. He was born in Milan, Ga to parents Edna & Charlie Clyde Blankenship. He was one of five children.

After enlisting in the Army, he served his country in Vietnam earning a Purple Heart. After his enlistment, he married his childhood sweetheart, Brenda Upshaw Blankenship. They raised two children together.

He was a cosmetologist in McRae, Ga until retirement; they began to travel together volunteering for Georgia State Parks as camp ground hosts. With his easy charm, he won the hearts of many loyal friends while traveling. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charles and his brother Clyde.

He is survived by his wife Brenda, his two children Eddie Blankenship Jr. ( Candace Blankenship) of McRae and Kandy Crutchfield ( Jody Crutchfield) of Danville, his brother Gene Blankenship ( Lois Blankenship) of McRae, his sister Peggy Todd (Ronnie Todd) of Hagan, his sister- in-law Nellie Blankenship of Milan ,nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday September 14, 2018 at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetary in Glennville, Ga with Pastor Herb Hubbard officiating. Glennville Funeral Home is serving the Blankenship family.
