Edgar L. Allen loving brother, cousin, and friend entered this world on October 11, 1938 at Fleming Neon, Kentucky to Emma (Holbrook) Allen and Howard Allen being orphaned at an early age. Edgar was raised, loved, and nurtured by his grandparents the late Rustie and Sylvan Holbrook. He departed this world February 21, 2019 to celebrate with his loving Savior in Heaven, making his stay on earth 80 years, 4 months, and 11 days.

Edgar was a member of the Church of Christ, Neon Kentucky where he found the Lord could and does make a wonderful difference in ones life. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was active in Mountain Outreach and enjoyed being able to be of service to the community.

He liked to watch sports on TV (Kentucky Wildcats), reading, and puzzle books. Sometimes he would surprise you with his knowledge of the written word. Edgar was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law: Remus and Maggie Holbrook, Louise Holbrook, sister and brother-in-law: Josephine (Holbrook) Shehee and John Patrick Shehee and sister and brother-in-law: Geneva and Sam Maran.

Left to cherish his memory are his cousin Elizabeth Shehee and a host of great awesome friends and cousins who became his special extended family. Funeral: 12:00 O’clock Noon Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny King, Frank Fleming and Brad Taylor officiating. Visitation: 11:30 A.M. Tuesday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in the WB Cemetery at Neon, Kentucky.
