Ivan Whitaker Jr., of Little Colley, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center. Ivan was the son of the late Ivon and Sally Caldwell Whitaker. Ivan was a coal miner.

He worked for over 40 years. His hobbies included going fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He loved to play cards.

He loved his wife and kids as well and was very excited for his upcoming grandchild. Surviving is his wife: Joyce ton Whitaker; 2 daughters: Brittany (Nick) and Brandi (Josh); 1 son: Christopher Whitaker; 2 sisters: Ruth Noble of Dry Fork and Judy Dent (Bennie) of Dearborn Heights, Michigan; 4 grandchildren: Shawntaya, Christopher David, Zoey, and Ellie Grace. Ivan was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Mary Rose and Louise.

Funeral: 3:00 O’clock P.M. Monday, April 1, 2019 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Donald Enfussee Jr. and Ted Collins officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Saturday and 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Gibson Family Cemetery at Isom, Kentucky.
