Obituary for Mr. Edgar L. (Gabby) Lanctot Edgar L. (Gabby) Lanctot, 97, of Burke, NY, died Monday, November 26, 2018 at his home. Born on March 18, 1921, he was the son of Edward and Jennie (Decoste) Lanctot. He married Jeanne Chauvin on May 24, 1947 in Notre Dame Church.

Gabby was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Ursuline Academy, Malone, NY and served honorably in the United States Army during World War II. He was employed by the Elliot and Hutchins Company of Malone for many years. After retirement, he and his wife Jeanne spent many happy years living at Chateaugay Lake, NY.

The family extends deep gratitude and appreciation to his dedicated and compassionate caregivers and to Hospice of the North Country whose efforts allowed him to remain at home, as he wished. He is survived by his daughters, Jill-Ann (Michael) Brockhues of Plattsburgh and granddaughters, Erika Brockhues-Manley and Laura Odell, Julie (Randal) Stickles and grandsons, Nolan and Neil Stickles of Yuma, Arizona; a son, Jack E. Lanctot of Malone and granddaughters, Karrie and Kristin Lanctot and eight great-grandchildren, who he was truly proud of. He was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Jeanne (Chauvin) in April of 2018; his parents, Edward and Jennie (Decoste) Lanctot; a sister, Marion Proechel.
