Obituary Edith A. Brown, 101, long-time Peoria resident, passed away on March 7, 2019 at Lutheran Hillside Village following a brief stay. She was born Edith Aileen Lester on December 22, 1917 in Monica, Illinois to Sylvester Lee and Sadie Morrow Lester. A 1935 graduate of Princeville High School, she received her cosmetology qualification in 1937.

On June 30, 1938, she married James V. Brown in Burlington, Iowa.
