Edna Houtkooper was granted her angel wings on May 15, 2019. She passed away in her home in Denver Colorado. Her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle, which gave her peace.

Edna had just recently celebrated her eighty fourth birthday. She was born to Adrian and Jenny Van Iwaarden on April 3, 1935 in Alamosa Colorado. She is the youngest of thirteen siblings.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Houtkooper who she married in April of 1954. They met In Denver during his recovery at Fitzimmons Army hospital. She shared fond memories with her grandchildren of growing up in Alamosa and particularly Rehobeth New, Mexico.

She is survived by her three children Michael, Kimberly and Todd. Edna is now side by side with Ken watching over their nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Her special wit and smile will be greatly missed.

“God never said that the journey would be easy, but He did say that the arrival would be worthwhile” Viewing will be Thursday May 30th from 4pm- 8pm at Bullock Mortuary . 1375 E Hampden Ave, Englewood, CO 80113 A memorial service will be held for family members at Ft Logan National cemetery at 930am on Friday May 31st A memorial service for family and friends will be held at First Christian Reformed Church at 11am followed by a luncheon.
