Obituary for Edna Marie Vinagro (Rooney) Edna Marie Vinagro, 83 years, of Kennebunkport, ME, died December 6, 2018 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Edna was born June 28, 1935 in Boston, MA, daughter of Edward and Alice (McGeever) Rooney. In 1960, she married John Vincent Vinagro, celebrating 58 years in love and friendship.

They raised their children in Bedford and Hudson, MA and have resided in the state they loved for the last 30 years, Kennebunkport, ME. She enjoyed living on a tidal inlet, watching ducks, egrets, herons and other wildlife in their backyard. Edna loved to laugh and always enjoyed a good joke.

She had fun shopping and finding a good bargain. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, watching Judge Judy with John, and playing games (especially with her grandsons). She worked at Animal Instinct and The Good Earth Pottery in Dock Square and was a well-known and welcoming face in the Port for many years.

Edna was very personable, made everyone feel welcome and was the bright spot in so many lives. Edna is lovingly remembered by her husband, John; her son, Victor and his wife, Mary, of Wakefield, NH; her daughters, Kelly Cox and her husband, David, of Sandwich, NH and Laurie Stevens and her husband, John Borlaug, of Brookline, NH; four grandchildren, Michael Vinagro, twins, Daniel and Johnathan Cox, and Antonio Stevens; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, ME.
