OBITUARY Edna S. Ryan July 15, 1918 – September 20, 2018 Edna S. Ryan, who reached the age of 100 on July 15, 2018, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2018, with her loving family by her side. Our beautiful, loving and kind mother, Edna Rita Schneider Ryan, is now with her Lord and Savior and was reunited with her husband of 68 years, who passed away exactly 11 years ago on the same day. She is preceded in death by her husband, James H. Ryan, Jr., her parents, the late Jacob A. Schneider and Mamie Conrad Schneider, daughter Rose Ann Ryan, grandson, James H. Ryan IV and her 7 brothers and sisters, Alvin, Merriald, Frank, and Joseph Schneider, Anna Mae Mohr, Beulah Kass, and Rosemary Bodenheimer.

She is survived by her son, James H. Ryan, III (Linda), and daughter Debra R. Morris (Daniel), grandchildren, Melissa Brodtmann (Eric), Sarah Holcomb (Luke), and Laura Griffin (Brad), great-grandchildren, Jessica Ryan, Jared and Sophie Brodtmann, Jedidiah, Royston, Harley, and Willa Holcomb, Nova and Lucy Griffin, brother in-law, A.P. Kass, and friends Judy Ryan, Tricia and Richie Rice along with numerous nieces and nephews. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, she was a sweet, caring person who loved all of her family members and friends and faithfully prayed for them daily. She was a wonderful mom, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation with the family will be held October 5, 2018 from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 1908 Short St., Kenner, Louisiana, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm. A reception will be held in the Larose Center 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm. A private burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Compassus Hospice, 2450 Severn Avenue, Metairie, LA 70001. Condolences may be left for the family at www. leitzeaganfuneralhome.com.
