Edward G Malicki Sr, September 04, 1926 — November 23, 2018

Obituary for Edward G. Malicki, Sr. Edward G. Malicki, Sr., 92, of New Britain, husband of the late Angela (Catucci) Malicki, passed away Friday (November 23, 2018) at his home. Born in Berlin, he lived in New Britain most of his life. Ed attended Teachers College of CT, now CCSU, but prior to college left high school early to proudly serve in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was Personnel Director at Atlantic Machine Tool, later Textron Corporation, where he helped and touched the lives of many in the Polish community for 30 years before retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in New Britain and the U.S.S. St. Paul Association. Surviving are a daughter, Bonnie Perna and her husband Tony of Rocky Hill; four sons, Edward Malicki Jr. of New Britain; Brian Malicki and his wife Elsa of Wethersfield; Barry Malicki and his wife Sandy, also of Wethersfield; and Brad Malicki and his wife Cara of Rocky Hill; a sister, Ann Dobranzyski and her husband John of New Britain; 10 grandchildren, a great grandson, and many nieces and nephews.

Ed was predeceased by two brothers, John Malicki, Jr. and Joseph Malicki; and a sister, Josephine Leavens. Dad taught us all by his example the importance of a strong family bond and unconditional love for one another. Everyone that ever came through the door was greeted with a hug and a smile.

Funeral services are Wednesday 8:30 AM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1733 Stanley Street, New Britain. Burial with military honors will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday 5 to 8 PM at Carlson Funeral Home.
