Obituary for Edward G Olson April 25, 1920- July 20, 2018 Ed was born in Sydney, Montana. His parents were Nick Olson and Dephna Milke. He joined the CCC’s before serving in the U.S. Army.

He was deployed to New Guinea, was wounded and received the Purple Heart. He was sent to Australia to heal from the wound and malaria. Upon returning to the States, he met Gwendolyn Wheeler in the Portland, Oregon area.

After a brief courtship they were married for 54 years until Gwen’s death in 2000. After a move to Kennewick, he built a home for his family. He was a carpenter by trade and built many buildings in the Tri-City area.

He was most proud of being the construction superintendent for the Pasco Red Lion. Ed served as a volunteer fireman at station 1 in Kennewick. Some of his favorite pastimes were spending time with family, watching westerns and having breakfast at the Sports Page.

Ed’s Children: JoAnn Jones Shirley Hill (Darryl) Robert E. – deceased Donald G. (Kay) Steven R. (Lori) Gregory D. – deceased Russell L. (Shelly) Ed was a quiet man and well respected. He will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved him very much. Viewing will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
