HOLYOKE Edward J. Connor, Jr., age 70, of West Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late Edward J. Connor, Sr. and Helen T. (Leary) Connor. Ed was a graduate of Springfield Technical High School and served his country in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971 in Germany during the Vietnam War Era.

Ed was a supervisor for Hazen Paper, retiring after many years. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Rosemary H. (Foley) Connor of West Springfield; sisters, Susan Mazzie of East Longmeadow, Maureen Abbey and her husband Kevin of Chicopee; Leslie Connor of Springfield; brothers Robert Connor of Arizona, and Mark Connor of Worcester, MA and predeceased sister Gail Schechter; sisters-in-law, Margaret Tompkins, Bonnie Dodge and husband Gary, and predeceased brother-in-law Robert Foley. Ed’s favorite activity was spending time at the beach with his wife, Rosemary.

He was a ferocious reader, lover of music, and a true Red Sox and Patriots fan. Ed had a way of making his presence known that will be sadly missed and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him and whose lives he touched. Calling hours will Tuesday, December 4th, 11:00 to 1:00pm, at Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke.

Committal prayers with Military Honors, at 2:00pm in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Edward to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
