Obituary for Edward Joseph Thurmond Edward Joseph Thurmond of Potosi, Missouri was born on December 3, 1949 in Potosi, a son to the late Harry E. Thurmond and the late Leona F. (Coleman) Thurmond. Ed passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital having reached the age of sixty-nine years and eleven days. In addition to his father and mother, Ed was preceded in death by one son, Michael Edward Thurmond.

Ed will be missed by his dear family which include his wife, Kathryn Thurmond; four children: Benjamin (Shantila) Thurmond, Vanessa (Adam) Jenkins, Jason Voyles, and Rebecca (Thomas) Thurmond; five siblings: Judy Thurmond, Steve (Marsha) Thurmond, Alicia (Gary) Nash, Noreen (Randy) Henson, and Bunny Henson; thirteen grandchildren: Gavin, Jeffrey, Adrianna, Michael, Breanna, Gabrielle, Isabella, Teegan, November, Malea, Cotney, Bella and Micha; also surviving are nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, December 17, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, December 18, from 8:00 a.m to 9:30 a.m. at the DeClue Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri.

Father Tony Dattilo will officiate. Interment and final prayers will be held in the St. Joachim Cemetery. Funeral arrangements for Ed were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
