OBITUARY Edward “Skip” Francis Schranz Jr. October 5, 1948 – September 15, 2018 Play Tribute Movie EDWARD “SKIP” SCHRANZ Edward Francis “Skip” Schranz, 69, passed away September 14, 2018. The visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018 with a funeral service following starting at Noon at McGilley State Line Chapel.

Burial immediately following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Skip was born in Kansas City, MO, on October 5, 1948, the son of Edward and Clara Schranz.

He graduated from Bishop Hogan High School in 1966 and then attended St. Mary’s of the Plains College. From there, he went on to serve as a proud Marine in the United States military. He was Aid to the Admiral on the USS Kitty Hawk on his first tour.

In the Vietnam War, his second tour, Skip was the leader of Combined Action Program 2-7-1. Following his military service, Skip was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, #41. Skip married Patricia Duffy on November 24, 1973.

After retiring at age 55, he and Pat enjoyed traveling to Europe, China, and the Caribbean. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and built two of his own. He is survived by his wife Patricia, two brothers Steve and Kevin Schranz, and sister Mary-Lou Rouen, as well as 5 nephews and a niece.
