OBITUARY Edward T. Murphy Jr. October 29, 1944 – December 20, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Edward T. Murphy, 74 of Westport, MA, passed away on Thursday December 20, 2018 at Catholic Memorial after a 13 year fight with Alzheimers. He was the beloved husband of Maureen with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. Born in Fall River, son of the late Edward T. Murphy and Eileen (Dougherty) Murphy.

He is survived by his wife Maureen Murphy, and his children Kerri Murphy of Somerville; Patrick Murphy and his wife Erin of Canton; and Trisha Maliska and her husband Richard of Goffstown, NH; also his brother Jack Murphy and his wife Toni of Portsmouth, RI; his sister Colleen Murphy and her late wife Jacqueline of Seekonk; 6 grandchildren, Seamus (deceased), Katherine, Abigail, Shealyn, Julie, and Brynn. Ed graduated from B.M.C. Durfee High School in 1962 and Southern Massachusetts University (SMTI) in 1966 with a major in textile design/engineering. Ed worked as a designer at Thomas Taylor and Son in Hudson, and then opened his own businesses Quality Fabrics in Hudson and Quality Crafted Industries and Engineered Narrow Fabrics in Fall River.

Ed was an avid golfer beginning at the early age of 6 and became a scratch golfer throughout his golf career. He was on the golf team at Durfee High School and SMTI. He was a member of the Massachusetts Amateur Golf Association.

He was a member at Montaup Golf Course, Marlboro Country Club, Pocasset Golf Club, Allendale Golf Club and Fall River Country Club. He was also the New England Regional representative for Team Golf National Challenge along with golf professional Jeff Maggert. Visitation will be Wednesday December 26th from 4:00-7:00pm at the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday December. 27th at 10:00am at St. John the Baptist, 945 Main Road, Westport, MA . Burial will follow at Beach Grove Cemetery.
