Obituary of Edward Irvine Edward Malcolm “Ed” Irvine, age 89, of Asheboro passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Randolph Hospice House. Mr. Irvine was born in Charlotte, NC on January 25, 1929 to John Edward and Sarah Elizabeth Brown Irvine. He attended Asheboro High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Edward was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Cross Road Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Jordan Irvine. He always enjoyed a good joke.

He is survived by his son, Steven E. Irvine of Asheboro; and step brother, Harold Brown of Charlotte. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Johnny R. Henderson and Rev.

Gregg Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204-0009.
