Obituary for Edwin Ray Brown Edwin Ray Brown, 71, passed away September 28, 2018 at UMC in Jackson. Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Tuesday at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs and 10am-11am Wednesday at Springs of Praise Church. Services will be 11am Wednesday at Springs of Praise Church with burial at Crystal Springs Cemetery.

Mr. Brown, a lifelong resident of Copiah County, retired after 33 years as a Forestry Crew Chief for the Mississippi Forestry Commission and also served his country as a member of the Army National Guard for 30 years. He attended many churches in Copiah County throughout has life including, First Baptist Church, Crystal Springs, 1st Pentecostal Holiness Church and Harmony Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah and Rufus Brown, Sr., his brother, John Martin Brown and his sister, Florence Greer.

Mr. Brown is survived by his daughters: Tonya Brown Chesser, Stephaney Brown Ashley (Teddy) and Brandy Brown McLendon; brothers: Rufus Brown, Jr. and Milton Brown; sisters: Helen Moore and Nannie Covington; Grandchildren: Andrew Whittington (Katie), Aundrea Jackson, Christa Quin (Jason), Ray Dykes, John Ashley, Philip Ramsey, Gillian Brown, Avanell Ashley, James Parnell, Jr., Heaven Smiley, Kenric Smiley and Destiny Smiley; great grandchildren: Ezalee Whittington, Jocelyn Whittington and Gracie Jackson.
