Edwin W. Honse, 73, of Mt. Pleasant Township, died Saturday, December 29, 2018 at his home. He was born August 19, 1945 in Norvelt, a son of the late A. Dewey and Nora O. (Myers) Honse.

Prior to retirement he worked at US Steel Edgar Tompson Works in Braddock where he was promoted to “The Wire Gang”, then after retirement he worked at Hepler’s Hardware, Youngwood. Edwin was a member of Norvelt Union Church, enjoyed working with his hands doing wood crafts and gardening, enjoyed shooting trap and participating in local trap shooting leagues. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, an infant brother, A. Dewey, Harry and James Honse, and 3 sisters, Thelma Colgan, Opal Hagerty and Ilene Saint.

He is survived by his son, Heath W. Honse of Grand Rapids, Mich. , a brother, Charles Honse of Maryland, 2 sisters, Betty Jane McCune of Ohio and Darlene Zalick of Norvelt, many nieces and nephews and his cats he loved, Buffy and Missy. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity, where funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday with The Rev.

David L. Greer officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul Reformed Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township.
