Eileen Elizabeth Walton May 11, 1938 – May 17, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Eileen Elizabeth Walton, age 81, of Rush City, left this earth to be with her Heavenly Father on May 17, 2019. Eileen was born to Louis and Emma (Lehman) Weber on May 11, 1938 in Worland,Wyoming. Eileen graduated from high school in Worland, Wyoming.

Eileen attended Northwest Institute of Medical Laboratory and X-ray Technique in Minneapolis to become a lab technician. She worked at the Lighthouse Restaurant in Cambridge in 1976 and also as a dental assistant for Dr. William Kieper in Rush City for 16 years. She volunteered at Grace Point gift shop in Cambridge for 15 years.

On March 1, 1963, Eileen married Gene Walton in Excelsior, Minnesota. They lived in Hopkins for nine months until they purchased a hobby farm on Goose Lake, December of 1963. They were married for 56 years and raised three sons and one daughter.

Eileen loved to bake and quilt. She took great joy in sharing her baked goods with family and friends and loved to hear that people enjoyed her specialties, caramel rolls and pies. She was an active member of the Thimbleberries Quilt Club which became Sisters in Stitches.

Her quilts were a labor of love for all and she would create a new quilt for each grandchild’s graduation, wedding and each new great grandchild. Eileen enjoyed spending time with her friends in Crochet Club (which became Card Club). Eileen was baptized in Goose Lake through Fish Lake Baptist Church.

An active member of the Dale Evangelical Free Church, Eileen held many varied roles; including Sunday School teacher, vocalist, Awana leader, summer Bible school teacher and a woman who believed in the power of prayer. Her smile, sense of humor, hospitality and loving ways will always be missed. Eileen spent the last three years at Ecumen of North Branch after a debilitating stroke.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Walton of Rush City; 3 sons and 1 daughter, Douglas Walton (Caralee) of Stanchfield; Duane Walton (Cynthia) of Lindale, Texas; Dale Walton of Rugby, North Dakota and daughter, Denise Behrendt (Daniel) of Rush City; 12 grandchildren, Brian Walton (Caitlin), Bradley Walton (Angela); Amiee Walton, Andrew Walton, Jason Walton, Lexi Walton; Dustin Walton, Joshua Walton, Cheyenne Walton, Nicholas Behrendt, Sarah Cedarleaf (Blake), Ashley Behrendt; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters Richard Weber (Mary Ann) of Worland, Wyoming; Mary Ellen Threlfall (Gordon) of Attleboro, Massachusetts; Lawrence Weber of Lafayette, Colorado, James Weber (Karla) of Worland, Wyoming, Christine Weber of Worland, Wyoming and Daniel Weber of Worland, Wyoming. Eileen is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Emma Weber; sister-in-law Janet Weber and her granddaughter, Brittany Walton. Eileen’s son Duane Walton and Pastor Harvey Martin will officiate at funeral services for Eileen: 11 AM; Thursday,(May 23, 2019), at the Dale Evangelical Free Church where Eileen was a long-time member.

A time of visitation is planned for one hour prior to the service at the church. A fellowship luncheon will be served after the service in the church. Memorials in Eileen’s memory may be directed to: Wycliff Bible Translators or to a charity of your choice.
