EITHEL E. STINNETTE, 84 of Ogallala, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala. Eithel was born September 21, 1934, at Hamlet, Nebraska to Orville and Ruth (Meyer) Daniel. She went to school in the Hamlet area before attending Brule High School.

Eithel eventually moved to Wauneta, where she went to work cleaning houses and at the cafe. It was at the cafe where she met Les Stinnette, who had been working at the filling station just across the street. The two were later married on November 8, 1951.

One week later, Les was called to serve in Korea. The two were reunited upon his discharge, and the couple made their home in Wauneta for a time, before Les went to work for General Electric. The family moved all over the U.S. living in their 8 x 40 trailer, pulled behind their green Oldsmobile.

The family settled in the Denver area for several years before permanently settling in Ogallala in 1968. Eithel worked at TRW and the Holiday Inn before her retirement. Eithel was a talented seamstress and made many of her own dresses.

She was also gifted musically, possessing a beautiful voice and the ability to play both the piano and guitar by ear. Eithel was her grandchildren’s biggest fan and loved spending as much time with them as possible. Eithel was preceded in death by her husband, Les; sons in law, Rusty Burns and Bill Musick; brother, Jack Daniel; and sister, Irene Fisher.

Survivors include her three children, Laura Musick of Ogallala, Jack (Christy) Stinnette of Imperial, Andy Stinnette of Lincoln; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, her twin sister, Ethel (George) Steier of Longmont, CO; sister, Ima Jean Peres of McCook; two brothers, Harlan (Mary Lou) Daniel of McCook, Wayne (Joann) Daniel of Hamlet; along with many other relatives and friends. A memorial has been established in her memory for later designation. Condolences can be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 22, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Ogallala with Pastor Curtis Tschetter officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery at Wauneta, NE. Visitation will be Thursday, February 21st from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Prairie Hills Funeral Home.
