Elda Violet Fischer, age 95, of Bismarck, North Dakota ended her journey on earth at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck on Thursday, March 28, 2019. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 4, 2019 with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM at Silha Funeral Home in Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 5, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Dan Berg officiating.

Rite of Committal will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Silha Funeral Home of Beach has been entrusted with the arrangements. Elda was born July 15, 1923 in rural Wibaux County, Montana to Roy and Ethel (Randall) Snow.

She was raised in the Beach area and graduated from Beach High School. On November 20, 1941 she married Reinhardt Fischer. To this union six children were born.

Jerry, Jeanne, John, Janet, Jo and Reinhardt Jr They lived on farms in the Golva area. She later lived in Dickinson and Bismarck, North Dakota.

Education was always a priority and all of her children attended college. Elda was active in PTA, directed school plays, and was involved in Valley Varieties for several years. She enjoyed her Homemakers Club where she made lifelong friends.

Elda had many hobbies including reading, handcrafts, oil and china painting, crocheting and writing poetry. Many people in the community have been recipients of her poems, paintings, doilies and baby sweaters. Elda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reinhardt Fischer; two brothers, Robert Snow and Glen Snow; two sisters, Ruth Frank and Joyce Austin; a son-in-law, Raymond Wehrman and brothers-in-law, Earl Fischer, Don Metcalf, Jim Rathbun, Gene Fong, Albert Frank and Robert Austin; sisters-in-law, Ramona Snow and Frances Snow and one grandson, Rodney Fischer.

Elda is survived by her six children, Jerry (Shirley) Fischer, Jeanne Wehrman, John (Sheryl) Fischer, Janet Fischer, Jo (John) Finneman and Junior (Bonnie) Fischer; her sister, Lola Fong; eight grandchildren, Brian, Susan, Cory, Jody, Holly, Lacy, Todd and Jared and eleven great grandchildren, Nathan, Casey, Ben Luke, Morgan, Adam, Zachary, Grace, Roman, Rylee, Tristan and Trace.
