Eldon’s Obituary Eldon Eugene Dewitt, 84, went home to his Lord Monday, February 11, 2019. He was born July 1, 1934 in Allen County, IN to the late Lawrence and Mary (Smith) Dewitt. Eldon attended Grabill Missionary Church.

He retired in 2004 as Supervisor of Maintenance for Scotts/Super Value for 25 years. He was owner of Dewitt’s Service. For the last 8 years he faithfully and lovingly cared for his wife Judy.

His family remembers his easy going and generous nature and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He enjoyed airplanes and working outside on his lawn and known as “Mr. Fix-it” On Saturday July 16, 1955 (63 years) he married Judith “Judy” (Baldwin) Dewitt in the Grabill Missionary Church who survives along with their children: Richard Dewitt, Nancy (Mike) Plank, son-in-law, Terry Brindle, 8 granddaughters: Michele (Chad) Handwork, Mandi (Marshall) Oliver, Sarah (Jonathan) Kline, Erin (Zach) Tate, Charity (Dan) O’Dell, Lauren Dewitt, Renee Dewitt, Dara Plank, and 13 great-grandchildren, Sean, Adam, Josh, Brianna, Ryan, Allison, Michael, Eliana, Malachi, Brooke-Lynn, Jordan, Kaleb and Kobe, siblings: David, Loyd (Bonnie), Leroy (Janelle) Dewitt. Eldon was preceded in death by a daughter JoAnn Brindle, siblings: Kenneth, Edith and sister-in-law Shirley Dewitt.

Funeral service will be 4:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2019 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. with viewing from 1:00 ~ 4:00 p.m. Pastor Doug Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer’s Association.
