Obituary for Eldridge Ellis Harber Jr At the age of 77 years, Sonny beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and brother-in-law passed away peacefully to be with our Heavenly Father. He left this world knowing the love of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Born December 7, 1940 at BAMC, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Tx.

He is preceded in death by his parents Eldridge E. Harber, Sr. and Peggy Winegeart. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jovita Ann; Ex-wife Hannah; his Son Ellis D. Harber (Sue); Daughters Heidilore Harber, Sofia Ann Bowden (Nathan), Victoria Rae Foster (Darrel); Grandsons, Dean, Ethan and Sean; Twin Granddaughters Julia Patrice and Lily Maria; Brother Larry D. Harber (Linda); Nephew Bryan Dean Harber and Darren Wayne Harber (Misty); Grand Nephew Darren W. Harber, Jr.; Niece Melissa Christina Martin; Sister in Laws Irma Denton (Robert), Alma Martin (Michael); Brother in Law Reuben Xavier Gonzales. Sonny was one of 8 graduates from Judson High School in Converse, Tx.

He served his country faithfully and proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Sonny was also a retiree from Kelly Air Force Base. He was a gun enthusiast; enjoyed hanging out with his friends at the gun shop in Lytle; loved to read, especially Sci-Fi and anything having to do with Texas history; loved to watch action, horror and Sci-Fi movies; had a good sense of humor; he was a good conversationalist and good at what he did when he set his mind to do so.

In his younger years he loved to hunt and fish. Although he had a difficult time expressing his emotions, he loved his family very much. He truly will be missed by many especially those who got to know him and accepted him the way he was.

Overall he was a great person. He may be gone but will never be forgotten. The family would like to acknowledge and express their gratitude to Bal T. Reddy MD; Robert Szewc MD; Roger K. Muse MD; Sabas Abuabara MD; the SNG-Barlite Dialysis Center and the MICU at the SW General Hospital; Warm Springs Rehabilitation Staff; Balthazar Seno (Physical Therapist from Forte Health Services) for their services and dedication and for ALL that was done for Mr. Harber while under their care.

Visitation will take place on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Camero Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held Friday Morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. It was Mr. Harber’s wish to be cremated and have a private family memorial gathering after the services.
