Obituary for Eleanor P. Lundby Eleanor P. Lundby, 91, a resident of Fergus Falls, MN, died Thursday, May 24, 2018, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, surrounded by her family. Eleanor (“Toots” to her family and friends) was born on April 30, 1927, in Folden Township, rural Vining, MN, to Martin and Mary (Nelson) Hermanson. She grew up on the family farm in Folden, was baptized and confirmed at Folden Lutheran Church, and attended country school at District #249 in rural Vining.

On May 6, 1950, she married Walter Lundby. They resided at and worked the family farm for a short while until moving to Henning and later to Fergus Falls, where she was employed at Bunny Bread Bakery, McKinley and Adams Schools as one of the “lunch ladies” and playground supervisors, and for 22 years at Broen Memorial Home as a TNA until her retirement in 1990. Eleanor was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, where she taught Sunday School, was involved in WELCA, “Circle”, and the Zion Quilters.

She and Walt enjoyed camping in the Black Hills, Yellowstone, and Itasca Park throughout the years and they spent 9 winters as “snowbirds” in Yuma, AZ, after retiring. She loved their home at Wall Lake and entertained her many wonderful neighbors, family and friends on the deck or around the kitchen table. She loved to bake and the coffee was always flowing along with a sweet treat or two.

Eleanor enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, craft shows, pontoon rides, and traditional lefsa and doughnut making during the holidays. She especially enjoyed attending her grandson’s orchestra concerts and other events. Family always came first and her grandson, Tucker was the light of her life.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walt; brother, Roy (Betty) Hermanson; sisters, Bea (Orvell) Christopherson, Ethel (Harry) Leibold, Helen (Herb) Nelson, and Audrey (Norris) Peterson; brothers-in-law, Donovan Brekke and Ernest Lundby; niece, Janet Christopherson; and nephews, Bob Hermanson and Jim Hermanson. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Charles) Henkes and grandson, Tucker Henkes all of Fergus Falls; sister-in-law, Ferne Brekke of Fergus Falls; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Visitation: 4-6 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2018, with a 5:30 p.m. public prayer service, at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls Clergy: Rev.
