Eleanor Virginia Smith, a woman of deep faith, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 9, 2018 at West Hills Health and Rehab at the age of 100. She was born in Manchester, PA on March 4, 1918, one of six children to the late Albert Brown and Olive Mae (Underwood) Jones. Eleanor called Sewickley home.

Eleanor married Charles H. Smith on June 26, 1940. They had 58 years of marriage devoted to God and family, until he passed on in August of 1998. Beloved mother of Patricia Anne Bell, (George Jr.) and Timothy C. Smith (Alice); cherished grandmother of Cindy Bush (Ron), Sandie Lang (Jeff), George Bell (Christine) and Brandon Timothy Smith; also 4 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her siblings: Levina, Violet, Arthur “Sonny”, Bob and Albert “Buck” Jones. Eleanor loved her church, Little Hill United Methodist, where she was involved in the Missionary Group, Scene-A-Felt and Keenagers. Their missionary group made it possible for the Bell Tower and Steeple, to The Glory of God.

Eleanor was engaging and never let age hold her back. She had friends of all ages. She was fun loving and fun to be around.

Please join us for visitation to celebrate her wonderful life on Wednesday 2-4, 6-8 at Copeland’s Sewickley, 702 Beaver St. Everyone please meet on Thursday at Little Hill United Methodist Church for funeral service at 10:30 AM. Pastors Tom Fodor and Kathleen Clark will officiate. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
